X-Ray and myself did this short flight together in the pacific fjords scenery thanks for the company x-ray.....
a quick sketch of the flight plan with the heading to follow to help find the entrance to the gorge that leeds to Bella Coola .
it was the we hours of the mourning when we picked up some hunters at CBX3 chilanko lodge ..they needed to catch a flight from beela coola back to Vancouver.
Not much of a runway.
Suns rising in the east.
time to set NAV 1 to 113.60.
and your vor1 gauge to 255 degrees.
its getting light time to roll.
wheels up...wait they,er fixed..lol
from the lodge me and x-ray heading out.
flying the runway heading and keep the mountains of your left wing.
and climb climb climb to 8 or 9 thousand feet to clear the mountains
Keeping an eye on that needle as it moves across to the middle of the gauge.
still time to cruise and enjoy some scenery.
almost there...the turning point that is.
looking for the entrance.
its about time to turn to 250 degrees.
trust me its just ahead some where.
there she is just as promised.would i steer you wrong.
the clouds all but disappeared nice and clear.
getting closer you can really see those beautiful mountains and the deep gorge.
I chose to stay at 9,000ft to clear the ridge and then drop in like a stone.
you can chose to fly about 240 from the turning pt and pick up the gorge at about 3,000ft just make sure to turn right at the fork.
time to drop it, like a rock.
and keep an eye out for those big rocks that can ruin your day.
this shot from below my aircraft kinda makes me dizzy
bella coola ahead.
it gets alittle tight in the valley before the airport.
more room to the left.
from bella coola tower , x-ray is behind at 3.5 miles..good spacing
Airport in sight.. fasten your seat belts.
the landing sequence.
X-ray blew passed me on final...now now thats not proper airmanship..lol
watch out for cross winds .over the fence.
Nice little airport beela coola and its nice to have something more then just a strip...and look at those mountains..climbing out of here should be interesting.
thanks again for the company X-ray..anybody else for some multiplayer fun? all you have to do is ask.......WeDGE
