Steve, Norm and Troph, on last nights flight it was talked about a tail dragging jet powered airliner and could not remember the name. The light bulb came on today and here what came to light. The Avro Ashton had four jet engines and the prototype was a tail dragger. Later models changed to a tricycle gear configuration. X-ray

Interesting Mike.... the first thing I noticed was the angle of the engines. This may have only had an effect as long as the aircraft was on the ground. This begs the question of why tail draggers preceded the tricycle gear configuration?
