Have you all had enough of the snow? I hope not. This week we'll be travelling to South Central Alaska. Our challanges are going to be sub-zero temperatures, at least one steep climbout, mountainous terrain, short runways, and even shorter daylight hours. It is only a 190 nm route, so you don't need a fast aircraft. I'll be taking an Aviat Husky. This is a VFR flight through sparsely populated terrain, so I've included one or two 'Easter Eggs' long the route. Note the special departure time of 12:30 hours LT. If all goes well, we will be taking off in daylight (such as it is), flying through dusk, and landing just as nightfall hits. If the weather is clear you should see a spectacular combination of colors to the South and brilliant starfields to the North at the same time. You can find the briefing, flight plan, and addon scenery at my webpage: members.cox.net/grizzlybear/TWMP/TWMP_index.htmlI hope to see you all on the flight line. Robert
